It seems to me that much of the virtues is summed up under the general category of simplicity. Simplicity of lifestyle is easy. What about simplicity of purpose, loyalty, and love? These are harder, and perhaps more relevant than simplicity of stuff.

What do the murderous reigns of power of Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot have in common? All these genocides were borne on the back of an atheist ideology.
